These are so easy to make and taste great. Personally I love these rolls because adults retreat back into childhood party memories, while maintaining some dignity - how sauve can an adult look hogging the fairy bread? - While parents feel a little more comfort knowing that their child is eating something homemade and wholesome between all the sweets. They are perfect for kids parties, cocktails and picnics.
Ingredients
1 packet frozen puff party sheets
30-40 cocktail size thin Italian beef or pork sausages (if you cant get small ones simply cut the large ones in half)
250 gr grated tasty cheese
3 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Salt
Pepper
Method
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
In a bowl mix together the tomato, sweet chilli and Worcestershire sauce with the Dijon mustard and season with a little salt and pepper.
Lie out your puff pastry sheets and cut into 8cm by 8 cm squares (this should roughly divide the sheets into 3 strips lengthwise and 3 strips horizontal).
Smear a little sauce on the diagonal of each puff pastry square and sprinkle with cheese. Lay the raw sausage on top and fold each end over to meet. Press down to seal the edges.
Repeat with remaining sausages and place on a lined baking tray.
Bake in oven for 10 minutes before reducing the heat to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for a further 10 minutes or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
Allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve hot or cold with your favourite sauce.
